About us
AD restaurācija is a joinery and furniture restoration workshop in Valka, Latvia, run by master craftsman Atis Dalbergs.
We make furniture to order and restore historic pieces. We work mainly with solid wood — oak, ash and other timbers — combining traditional joinery with modern hardware and finishes.
Our work is very varied: from carefully restored antique tables and chairs to furniture for churches, from classic dining tables to design pieces in which the wood tells a story — about Latvia's roads, about the economic crisis or about ancient Latvian symbols.
Restoration with respect for history
An antique piece of furniture is not just an object, it is a memory. When restoring, we try to keep as much of the original material as possible, replace missing parts with matching timber and choose a finish appropriate to the period. We carry out complete professional restoration — from strengthening the structure to repairing veneer, marquetry and carvings.
How we work
- Conversation and inspection. You tell us about your idea or show us the piece — in person or in photos.
- Proposal. We recommend materials, finishes and solutions, and give you a cost estimate and timeline.
- Work in the workshop. If you wish, we keep you updated with progress photos.
- Handover. We deliver the finished piece and advise you on how to care for it.
