Pērkonkrusts (the "thunder cross") is one of the oldest Latvian symbols — a sign of fire, light and the power of thunder that traditionally protects the house and those who live in it. The sign is inlaid into the top in dark wood marquetry, contrasting with the pale, figured grain of the timber.
The form is simple and contemporary — the top and lower shelf are joined in one continuous fold, and castors make the table easy to move.
